Celebrating Excellence in Construction Logistics at the CILT Construction Logistics Conference

7 April 2026

Construction logistics – the “hidden engine of project success”

Cidori was proud to attend and sponsor the recent Construction Logistics Conference hosted by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), an event that brought together industry leaders, experts, and emerging talent to explore the vital role of logistics in major infrastructure delivery.

The conference reinforced the importance of construction logistics as the “hidden engine of project success” – a discipline that underpins the effective planning, coordination, and execution of complex projects such as HS2. Through a series of engaging presentations and discussions, attendees gained valuable insights into the challenges and innovations shaping the sector today.

A key highlight of the event was the recognition of the first cohort of learners to complete the Improvement Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship in Construction Logistics, developed in support of the HS2 programme. These awards marked a significant milestone in building a skilled workforce for the future of infrastructure delivery.

Among the award recipients, Alex Basra was recognised for his outstanding achievement, earning a distinction in his apprenticeship. This accomplishment reflects both individual dedication and the strength of high-quality training pathways within the sector.

The event also showcased the excellent work of CILT in accelerating careers across transport and logistics, supporting professional development, and championing skills across the industry.

Cidori is delighted to support this important initiative as part of our ongoing commitment to apprenticeships delivered nationally by our partners at Barnet Southgate College, rated Ofsted Outstanding for Apprenticeships. Through this collaboration, we continue to invest in developing the next generation of logistics professionals.

The conference was a compelling demonstration of the innovation, expertise, and talent driving construction logistics forward—and its essential role in delivering the UK’s most ambitious infrastructure projects.
