Level 3 Content Creator

Typical Job Roles:

Content creator; Content assistant; Content producer; Multimedia executive; Social media assistant; Social media coordinator. An employee in this role will be responsible for delivering high quality content on time and on budget that meets the brief. They need to be aware of the legal and regulatory framework and take this into account throughout the content development process.

Programme Length:

15 months plus a 3 month End Point Assessment (EPA) window.

Functional Skills:

Level 2 in English & maths is to be completed, if required.

Progress Reviews:

Progress reviews occur every 10-12 weeks and are a mandatory requirement. There must be a manager or mentor present at each review.

Content creator Level 3 Standard

Delivery and Assessment:

Learning & assessment will take place with a dedicated onsite college partner tutor, and will consist of:

  • Teaching sessions, practical activities
  • Workbooks & Projects
  • Presentations and practical assessments

Off the Job Training:

This training must equate to a minimum of 6 hours per week for the duration of the apprenticeship programme. It can be delivered flexibly e.g., for a part of each day, once each week or as a block release.

  • Methods used to segment and understand core audiences and how to plan content
  • Availability of data and its use to inform decision making for content creation
  • End-to-end production workflow process for the organisation
  • Regulatory and legal requirements when using media assets
  • Personal and employer responsibilities regarding data protection
  • How to identify the commercial drivers for a client/customer
  • Importance of brand, brand awareness, brand purpose, branding guidelines
  • Where content creation fits within a marketing strategy
  • Interpret the aims of the brief
  • Research ideas and concepts to meet the brief
  • Evaluate brand requirements and brand guidelines
  • Prepare a mood board or other visual aid for the content to be created
  • Present ideas, pitches and proposals for creative content to be further developed
  • Committed to producing high quality creative content
  • Team-focussed and working effectively with colleagues and others

Progression:

Successful completion of the programme may be a gateway to further learning, or enhanced career opportunities in the sector: Content Executive; Social Media Coordinator; Marketing Executive; Digital Community Manager and eventually Digital Marketing Manager or Content Manager roles.

End Point Assessment:

Learners will undertake an End Point Assessment at the end of their practical training period. The EPA will consist of the following elements, each of which will be graded individually. Learners will then be awarded an overall grade of a fail, pass or distinction.

  • Project or campaign evaluation report
  • Presentation of additional/new content and questions
  • Professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio of evidence
