Back Story
Before starting the course, Tom (pictured right) had been working in the care sector, but a relationship breakdown forced a move from London to Dorset and a complete reset.
Tom says “although a bit daunted about being in learning again, I was really keen to find a job and although I wanted to change jobs I didn’t want something that was just retail or office based
because I like helping people.”
He was referred to and enrolled onto a Teaching Assistant online programme delivered by Cidori partners Barnet and Southgate College.
“I absolutely would recommend this course – it was scary at first and I wondered if I would be ok with the written work but it not only gave me knowledge and understanding of what a Teaching Assistant does and what to expect in the role, it also showed me that I can do academic study and has improved my self esteem hugely.”
