THE COURSE
Sarah was looking for a new career which worked around her children and their school schedules. She had been working as a senior chef, which was proving impossible now that she was a parent. She was excited to enrol on the Cidori-Runshaw College 4-week ‘Teaching Assistant’ online course, delivered by Runshaw College and get the ball rolling towards a new path. She admitted to feeling a little nervous about using Zoom for the first time but soon settled into the class routine.
PROGRESSION
Sarah found everyone so welcoming and friendly that it quickly became comfortable and she looked forward to every session. The course opened new doors that will allow Sarah to work while being a single parent with limited access to childcare.
JOURNEY SINCE LEARNING
Sarah is applying for jobs in her area and has already signed up with teaching support agencies for work in the meantime.
QUALIFICATIONS
Like all our TA candidates, Sarah has come away with a Level 2 NCFE Cache Award in Support Work in Schools & Colleges qualification and a suite of recognised Level 1 qualifications.
WORK & PERSONAL SKILLS
Sarah has also gained a range of personal social & resilience skills along with work skills that will help her in her future career – we wish her every success!
” I would absolutely recommend the course to anyone! My course college tutor offered complete support throughout – the workbooks were fun to complete and the pace was perfect for someone like myself who has ADHD and prefers the fast-paced, intensive approach to learning. I am keen to continue my learning and potentially complete another course which will further my knowledge and qualifications in this area.”
